This paper studies polarity interface modification and superficial properties which primarily modifies the surface of oil field stratum. The clay includes montmorillonite, kaolinite, illite, chlorite. In essence, surface modification is changing the physical and chemical properties by chemical reaction or chemical absorption to meet contemporary technologies development.Study on surface modification,which has been performed a long time, is a key topic not only in surface chemistry but also in interface engineering. There are many ways of surface modification, as a whole, which mainly include chemical and physical method. The surface chemical modification is accomplished by means of chemical reaction or absorption between surface modifier and substance, and so as to alter physical-chemical property of solid surface such as humidification, interfacial tension, contact angle, and electrical properties as well. This is one of the most extensive modification methods.Interface modification is different according to a special application background and fields. Its application in many fields is much more import. And the studies and practical application for many years have created not only economical but social efficiency.The innovation in this study is that hydroxyl groups of the negative interface and other active groups have chemical reaction to form solid-chemical combination, which could effectively reduce the surface adsorption capability. One side, oil could pull off from the clay surface, on the other side, it could not arise clay swelling.The paper consists of two sections:I. Multifunctional Active Polymer Composition PF-C with High Oil/Water/Solids Separating PowerThe titled multifunctional active polymer aqueous composition, PF-C, is composed of a specially synthesized active polymer, polyethylenepolyamine and partially (10%) N-ethylated polyacrylamide reaction product (5.6%), alkenyl-biscycloimidazoline derivative terminated and toluenediisocyanate chain-extended block-polyether (2.0%),salt tolerant surfactant TM-1(3.0%),and water (89.4%). Its performance properties are investigated comparatively with Yumen's petroleum sulfonates, demulsifier M-510, and others. An oil/clay/sand blend (OCSB) is prepared from quartz ,montmorillonite, kaolinite, and crud oil and, mixed with 20% PF-C aqueous solution (and water as control ) at mass ratio 10:4 for experimental determinations and the results are: PF-C lowers the surface tension of water, dramatically raises the contact angle of water on quartz surfaces and significantly lowers the adhesion work of crude oil on surfaces of quartz with clay minerals while a percentage oil washed out is in range 95-100% depending on the grade of crude oil. Oil, water, and solid phase are separated with sharp oil/water interfaces from mixtures of 4 mL 20%PF-C solution and 10 g OCSB in 2 hours standing at 50-90℃. Clay does not absorb any water from 20% PF-C aqueous solution in 2 hours as measured on a specially designed apparatus. The highly swelled in water artificial cores can practically recover their original permeability by injecting PF-C. At blocks Shanjiasi-8 and -10 of Binnan, Shengli, PF-C have been put into field uses as steam additive in huff-puff wells with serious sanding troubles, being injected into 6 wells at 0.5-1.0% dosage together with steam (200-300m3) in the late stage of a steam injection cycle, and the results were fair good: the production cycle elongated by 55 day in average; the oil output in the cycle raised by 333 tones per well. The functioning mechanisms of PF-C are discussed.II. Study on Synthesis and Properties Evaluation of AM/AMPS CopolymerAn anionic AM/ AMPS copolymer is synthesized with AM and AMPS as monomers. The synthesis condition is discussed. And the performance, such as heat resistance, salt tolerance, filtrate reduction, has been tested. The results show that it has heat resistance and salt tolerance in a way.In the future, we hope that we can synthesis three monomers copolymer, which could improve the heat resistance, salt tolerance and reduce filtrate. At last, the product could be extended and applied.
