Mechanical plating, a new kind of " green surface protection technology" , with many characteristics such as high efficiency, low cost and energy consumption, simple process, little environment pollution, has been in industrial application in developed countries including Japan, USA etc. for almost 20 to 30 years. Only about 10 years ago came this technology to existence in china and the mechanical plating process mainly was mechanical zinc plating. With the development of science technology and modern industry, requirements on surface protection performance of steel material become more strictly. Zinc plating, which is regarded as anticorrosion composition of steel parts, can not meet the requirements of higher anticorrosion performance. To find plating with good complexity performances professionals in mechanical plating field have conducted some studies. At present many theses work on the research and application of mechanical alloy plating have been issued in home and aboard, among them mechanical copper or copper series alloy plating are seldom discussed and no industrialized sample presented.Available documents in recent 20 years show that, researches on the mechanism of formation of mechanical plating have been far behind the development of the process of mechanical plating. There isn't an explanation which could be widely accepted. Only few discussions on the mechanism of formation of mechanical zinc plating were proposed. In this thesis, processes of mechanical copper plating and new mechanical copper series alloy plating are developed, and discussions on the anticorrosion performance and mechanism of new plating are proposed. In this thesis, new processes of mechanical copper plating and mechanical copper alloy plating are developed with references to mechanical zinc plating process, applying research method combing basic theoretical analysis and experimental observations. Composite deposit boosting agents used in the process of mechanical copper plating and mechanical copper alloy plating are developed. New plating with different ratio of copper,copper-zinc,copper-zinc-aluminum,copper-manganese,copper-manganese-alu minum alloy are discussed and the experimental results show that the bonding strength of above mentioned plating is good. At the same time the immerse tests on several new successfully coated plating are conducted and the results show that the anticorrosion performances of new copper and copper alloy plating are better than those of zinc plating. The regular results show that the anticorrosion performances of new alloy plating improved as the content of copper increasing. And anticorrosion performances of copper alloy plating are not as good as that of copper plating. Through observing the shape and structure of plating with scanning electron microscope (SEM), it is found that surface conditions of mechanical copper-manganese plating are better than that of mechanical zinc plating or other kind of alloy plating. The corrosion product of mechanical copper alloy plating immersing in the solvent of NaCl2 were studied by XRD, relevant results show that when the corrosion product is not crystal the anticorrosion performance of plating is good. Anticorrosion mechanism of plating is also discussed in this thesis. In this thesis, research work has practical meanings in promoting the application of mechanical plating process, in exploring copper plating and alloy plating with better anticorrosion performance, in enlarge the scope of industrial applications.
