Polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs) have been widely used as a global pollutant which is one kind of Brominated Flame Retardants(BFRs),because of its frequent detection and high concentrations found in the environment,PBDEs has became the hotspot of the environmental science,its analysis method and pollutant research has just started in our country.A method for the determination of PBDEs in sediments by high performance liquid chromatograph has been developed.On the basis of references and method,surficial sediment samples of the water were collected from xi'an and analyzed for assessment of distribution, source and transport of PBDEs in the aquatic environment.The results showed that PBDEs were determined with the different level all but Chan River.BDE-153,183,196,203,197 and 209 of the Unity Reservoir were determined,the concentration was more than of that,the highest concentrations was 218.42 ng/g,PBDEs in the reservoir were originated from 70%sewage of the city.BDE-183,BDE-197 and BDE-203 of the Hucheng River were determined,sewage was the sources of PBDEs.The concentration of Fenghui ditch was low,only BDE-183 was determined,the water was polluted by local waste discharges,but sometimes the ditch drainde by opening the brake, dirty were diluted and dispersed,PBDEs could hardly sank and accumulated.BDE-196,203 and 207 of the Ba River were determined,injecting sewage was the sources of PBDEs.The water was barricaded in the middle of Ba River in order to build dam and recreation apparatus,these were in favor of pollution to accumulate,and hurt aqueous ecology.Four kinds of PBDEs were determined in the Zao River,including BDE-153,183,203 and 209, because the fiver was longer and many plants built,industrial waster discharge led to the results.BDE-196,203,207 and 209 of the Wei River were determined,the concentration of BDE-209 was 2.43 ng/g,it was the highest of BDE-209 in the water,the main source was sewage discharge.Level of PBDEs surficial sediments in the water from xi'an was general very low.Wei River was the sink of sewage,sewage was the sources of PBDEs of Wei River.
