In recent years, the selective recognition and extraction of alkali metals is currently an area of great interest. For example, the recent elucidation of the structure of the streptomyces lividans potassium channel has enabled research into the structure requirements of ion channels through synthetic mimetics. cucurbiturils offer an ideal platform for the design of potassium-selective ionophores due to their novel structure.In the thesis, we synthesis of a series of cucurbiturils (Q[n]) derivatives and then select some alkali metal ions and common metal ions and some organic guests to investigate their interaction mechanism by using X-ray diffraction analysis, NMR techniques, and so on.Here, we have got three three novel noncovalent molecular necklaces and interlocked necklaces by using the normal Q[5] or its alkyl-substituted derivatives, dimethylcucurbit[5]uirl (DMe Q[5]) ,and tricyclohexynocucurbit[5]uirl (TriCyH Q[5]) with K+ ions or Sr2+ and formed some novel crystal structures. For example, a molecular necklace [8]MN based on K+ ions. A molecular necklace [7]MN based on Sr2+ ions A molecular necklace [11]MN based on K+ ions. Moreover, the [11]MNs are interlocked each other. These crystal structures first indicated that Q[5] and its derivatives as single units may have limited application, but as supramolecular building blocks the possibilities are greater.On the other hand, we have investigated the interaction of [m-TriCyH Q[6] with some guests. Such as acetone, 3-amino-5-phenylpyrazole(app), and 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'dipyridyl(55dmbpy),and 4,4'dipyrid derivatives, respectively. Their crystal structures were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffractions. The crystal structures of these host-guest complexes revealed that the host m-TriCyH Q[6] had a strong selectivity fox different guest molecules, which were readily included in the cavity of m-TriCyH Q[6]. Small organic compounds, The successful synthesized of hydroxyl partially substituted cucurbit[6]urils indicated that Q[n] and Q[n]'s derivatives as a functionalized material can be used for ion channels, vesicles and 2D polymers and so on.
