Urban Furniture Emotional Design

Urban furniture is the important life props for people in the outside space of city. It gives external active content to outside space of city and enriches the quality of the landscape, and improves the quality of life; it plays coordinator and the environment an important role. However in china, it is limited by the society development level, urban furniture has not been given sufficient attention for a long time in the design of external space, while lead to lack of careless and respect for human, but also lead to culture lost in the development of the city. In Experience economic times, there has been changed demand for the material needs to the emotional needs, and brought different changes in design theory and all aspects of social life, so how to reflect the concern for human in the urban furniture design has begun to become the target for many scholars.Firstly this paper expatiated the concept, composition and action of urban furniture, in view of current situation and the existing problems in urban furniture design, the paper tried to study from the perspective of human, through a brief analysis of the role of emotion and mechanism, it discussed the necessity and importance of furniture Emotional Design and brought the emotional design to it. Secondly, through studied the cognitive psychology, design psychology, art psychology, environmental psychology and other subjects, it discussed the composition and function of the urban furniture. At the same time, based on the United States cognitive psychologist Norman professor Emotional Design Theory, it emphasized on the four appeal point and how to reach to it. Finally, the paper summarized some principles and methods through emotional value judge system. The writer hopes that it can offer some valuable things to better development of urban furniture design and design theory.
