Red mud are rejectarnentas of alumina in manufacturing.It has biggish fatalness to farmland and groundwater by its strong alkalescence.As a industry flotsam,red mud has multiform chemistry components.Due to the difficulty of reclaim,people now spending much time to research the red mud's afresh use,all factories stack the red muds in reservoir.Guizhou aluminium factory's accumulate site abut against the flajiasi anticline.The site is a typical karst depression.Affected by baiyanguan & F5 fault,there are series ravines,sinkholes,clearstories and shafts growing in the site.These karst structures forms a most complicated groundwater network.The water level of reservoir is higher than the ground level of changchong valley.This phenomenon shows the drainage of water among reservoir,valley and nearby valley.The movement of groundwater brings huge trouble in preventing leakage.Through analysing and summarizing past years' prevention and cure of leakage,peoples find that the leakage of site has the characteristic of concentricity,directivity,subsection and asymmetry.There are six leakage strip and four main leakage spot in the site,the first is S639 spring which lies in laomazhai,the secood is S407 spring which lies in lujiawan,the third is S313 baishui spring,the fourth is S010 moulao spring. The mode of leakage is very multiplex,one of them is dispersive flow along bedding surfaces and joints,the other is concentrated flow along faults and karst pipeline,some of them is momentarily or enduringly.The depth of leakage in red mud is 20-40m under ground,the maximal depth is 70-80m.Guizhou aluminiurn factory adopt steps of "drop,block,spread,circle and pour" to prevent the leakage of waste water in reservoir.The mean of "drop" is reducing the use of alkali by improving technics of alumina.The mean of block is jaming the karst pipeline.The mean of "spread" is sintering red mud or spreading clay above geotextile under disigned water level.The mean of "circle" is reclaiming the waste water in reservoir.The mean of "pour" is grouting the detected leakage route which is 1500m long.Through these methods the factory reached little benefits of environment,society and economy.Along with the rise of water level of reservoir the dynamical effect of groundwater is strengthening.Some zone where has no leakage now leaking because the lack of systemic investigation and programming of father.After years' research of karst leakage,i acquired the effective method in prevention and cure of leakage in red mud reservoir.In a word,it is doable that establish red-mud reservoir in complicated karst zones where the scientific and impactful anti-leakage steps are adopted.
