Preliminary Design, Based On The Short Process Of Steel-making Works Of Ve And Slp

As the first process of the engineering design, the engineering basic design takes on pivotal function in the aspects of the project's design, decision, purchase,build, check and accept etc. In this paper, the use of advanced theories and methods such as Value Engineering (VE) and System Layout Planning (SLP) on engineering basic design of the UHP-CC project are investigated. The research work, which is set in the 300 kt/a UHP-CC steel-making project of Vietnam VANLOI Co., Ltd. realized the orization and procedure of the engineering basic design. It improved the efficiency and quality of the engineering basic design, and can be a reference to other similar project.On specialty and regquest of the UHP-CC steel-making project basis, firstly, the scheme of electric arc furnace and product line are assessed by the use of VE comprehensive evaluation. Secondly, a reasonable lay-out plan of the steel-making workshop is drawn by the use of SLP. Finally, this engineering basic design is completed by the use of various specialty technology and the consider of various factors.The production of this research work is finised as follows: production scale, product mix, type of EAF, scheme of product line, product process, material supply, product operation and manage, lay-out plan of workshop, energy consume evaluation, environmental protection and offal using, industry safety and sanitation, fire protection, Labor requirement, investment estimate etc.
