| With the development of difficult-to-cut material and complex structural component, EDM has been one of the important ways of mechanical processing. Study on processing technology of EDM is an important subject.High-efficiency EDM on multi-curvature oil circuit used in some kind of vehicle power system was studied in the view of practical engineering application. The material removal rate, electrode wear rate and surface morphology were investigated by experiments in details. Based on the systemic experiment design, the effect of electrical parameters on material removal rate and electrode wear rate were studied. The mathematical model and the significance order of the facters were obtained. Moreover, the craft parameter optimization had been carried on. On the base of the experiments, the electrode structure and special fixture were designed. The matters during the machining were summarized and resolved. And the technology specification of EDM was established.By doing thirty-two groups of factorial experiments, seventy groups of single factor experiments and thirty-two groups of uniform experiments, twenty-four pieces of fitting curves and forty pieces of empirical formulas were obtained. On the base of the basic process experiments, two sets of combined electrode were designed and performed ten times. The main conclusions are as follows:1)The electrode material has some influence on process index. It should be selected properly on the base of matching ability of matetial.2)Peak current ie is the most significant factor to EDM process index. Vm and vE increase with the growth of ie. to is comparatively a secondary factor when H13 is machined by Copper and Graphite. ti and Sv have no significant influence; Using Copper to machine ZL302 and QT700, ti is a secondary factor while to and Sv have some influence.3)The machined surface quality of EDM is very high.4)The machined multi-curvature oil circuit meets the requirement of dimensional precision, position precision and surface quality with the self-designed electrode.5) Comparison between EDM and milling on the multi-curvature oil circuit was analyzed. It's proved that the cost was reduced by 50%, the surface quality had obvious superiority while the machining efficiency should be improved. |
