With the intense competition in the automotive industry, high-efficiency and high-quality manufacturing technology applications will become the tendency of automotive industry development.Laser welding of automobile double-linked gears has some advantages of very small distortion, high production efficiency and quality . So, it is widely used in the world at present. Therefore, it is very necessary to carry on the research of the laser welding of the double-linked gears.In this subject, welding process and key technology of automobile double-linked gears have been studied deeply. Aiming at the process parameters (such as laser power, welding speed, defocus etc.) that influence welding quality, a lot of research efforts have been done. Whole research process base on experiment, scientific detection and analysis to be used as the means. Fundamentally clarified the influence of various parameters and factors to the welding quality of Laser welding of automobile double-linked gears. Microstructure of laser welding seam has been studied. The common defects in the welding seam were analyzed, and the main causes and significant preventive measures were discussed.The results of study indicate: Suitable welding process parameter and processing before welding to be used will lead to superior welding seam that have high tordional strength, large depth -width ratio and no surface defect (such as porosity and hot crack etc.), and then high quantity automobile double-linked gears which have been weldedBased on the study of welding process, a three dimensional transient numerical model of temperature field of the laser welding molten pool with a moving laser beam is established. the welding variables' infection of temperature field is also analyzed. Corresponding welding experiments are done subsequently. By comparison, it's found that the calculated results approximately agree with the experimental results, which proves that the model is basically correct and the numerical method is reliable...
