Qishao granules is a new compound preparation of pure Traditional Chinese Medicine, which consists of Fructus Lycii, Radix Paenoiae Alba, Flos Chrysanthemi, Radix Angelicae Sinensis and other two herbs. It has the function of tonifying kidney and essence replenishment, strengthening renal yin and nourish yin, emolliate the liver to improve eyesight. Therefore it can be applied to cure deficiency of the kidney, blood insufficency of the liver, so it can improve visual acuity, especially effective in the therapy of Amplyopia and etc. After clinic application of several years, it is proved to be a good remedial effect and the patients reflect that it has a favourable compliance. With the guidance of the theories of TCM, adopting the modern pharmaceutical method and technology. Qishao granules has been studied on pre-clinical pharmacy. For the demand of clinic, we choose granules as the dosage form. On the basis of the function and treatment as well as the characters of the component of the herbs, the optimum extract conditions about are selected by using extracts rate and content to evaluate with orthogonal design. The preparation procedure is that the herbs made by water-extract, separated by high speed centrifugal filter and dried under reduced pressure and granulated dry granulation technology. We study out the quality standard for the Qishao Granules. Determine the content of Paeoniflorin in Qishao Granules by RP-HPLC. Use TLC to identify Fructus Lycii, Radix Paenoiae Alba, Flos Chrysanthemi, Radix Angelicae Sinensis. Then the preliminary stability has been finishled. The research indicates that the technique of preparation is reasonable and practical, the standard is controllable and the quality of the sample are steady as well.
