With light composite armor, anti-elastic energy advantages the composite armorconstituted by Kevlar fiber reinforced composite material (KFRP) and engineeringceramics has broad prospects for application in protection field. Currently machiningceramic has been achieved good results by sintering diamond drill, the technology isbecoming more mature. But ceramic/Kevlar composite components processing is still adifficult that constrainting the application of composite armor seriously.Selecting of sintering diamond drilling as tool kits, do a more in-depth research basedon the properties of Kevlar on processing technology to laid the foundation of the lightcomposite armor processing:(1) Through the axial force single-factor by sintering diamond bit processing KFRP,analysis the tool parameters (thickness) and process parameters (spindle speed, feed rate)influence on axial force; optimize tools and technological parameters and obtain theoptimum mix of factors level programs by orthogonal experiments; using regressionanalysis obtain the axial force mathematical model;(2) Analysis the advantages and disadvantages of sintering,brazing and electroplatingdiamond drill though the tool parameters (thickness) and process parameters (spindle speed,feed rate) influence on axial force, get the sintering diamond drill drilling KFRP best;(3) Design a dedicated sintering diamond cutter and composite drill, maching KFRPfor groove milling and steps hole, analysis the quality of processing on process parametersand optimized the process parameters.
