| A novel Al-Cu alloy was prepared through casting, rolting, solution treating and aging. The influences of trace element V (0-0.24%) on the microstructures and performance of the alloy were investigated by optical microscopy, scanning electronic microscopy, transmission electronic microscopy corrosion test and mechanical property dedermination. The results showed the followings.(1) When content of the vanadium is 0.13wt%, the strength reaches maximum value. The tensile strength and yield strength of the studied alloy with T8 temper are much higher than those of the studied alloy with T6 temper, but the elongation is reduced.(2) The element V has no obvious effect on the casting structure and homogenization structure. But afrer solution at high solution temperature, grains of vanadium containing alloy will be refined due to recrystallzation. When the element V reaches 0.13wt%, the grain is the finest.(3) The alloy with T8 temper has a good intergranular corrosionresistance than that with T6 temper. |
