Chinese Environmental Ngo Development

Along with the high-speed operation of national economy and society, the environment is getting worse and worse. The economic development, which disregard of environmental sustainability ,make large areas of land facing the risk of becoming an "ecological wasteland ".Meanwhile, mass incidents caused by environmental problems also on the rise, environmental crisis has been an Social instability factor.Therefore, environmental protection has caused attentions from the whole society. All are striving to find effective way to solve the problem. Generally speaking,there are three ways to tackle the problem.It includes government,market and society. However, the government is often "failure", and the market organization is not going to do unprofitable things. So, the best solution can only come from the community, and the most effective way is environmental non-governmental organizations. Since the establishment of China's environmental non-governmental organizations, several classic case of environmental protection has been made. It has played a good role in the environmental protection. This paper will study environmental non-governmental organizations, and provide some recommendations for its future development.There are four main parts in this paper.The first part is the introduction. It leads to China's environmental NGOs, presents the selection significance, research status and research tools, thereby positioning for the entire research work.The second part is status analysis of China's environmental NGOs. It mainly explains environmental NGOs' raise, status quo, functions and existing obstacles. The third part studies China's environmental NGOs' environment protection mode. In order to play its role, environmental NGOs must participate in the environment protection action. The research shows that environmental NGOs follow the similar mode in previous environmental actions. This part adopts the cases analyzed and summarized analysis. Finally, it comes to a conclusion that China's environmental NGOs depend on the government.Part IV is on China's environmental NGOs' future. On the basis of former analysis, this paper presents some proposes on China's environmental NGOs' current conditions and realistic strategy.The paper has two innovations: First of all, through case analysis, this paper summarized China's environmental NGOs' environment protection mode. Secondly, this paper uses resource dependence theory to interpret China's environmental NGOs' environment protection mode. Then, it comes to the conclusion that China's environmental NGOs exists dependence relations on the government. Finally, this paper proposes some proposes realistic strategy to deal with the dependency.
