Bentonite is a kind of hydrous alumino-silicate claystone, which mainly contain Montmorillonite with 2:1 samdwich. Nano-size fraction and Special layer structure endue it some idiographic character, such as expansibility, cat ion exchange, suspension, dispersion, hydrophilic nature etc.. Accordingly, it has being widely used at metallurgy, environment protect and some other industry. There are abundant Bentonite resources, which demandments have been increased continuously, in China. However, the local craft of Bentonite produce is fall behind and the quality of product is low. We have to export Bentonite in the rough in low price and import refine Bentonite in high price from other country worldwide. Several Bentonite fields have been found in Jianyang Sichuan and there is good potential to find new Bentonite fields. However, there is no research about how to synthetically use the Bentonite resources till now. A series of test and analysis show that there is only 70% of Montmorillonite in the Bentonite of Jianyang. It means that the Bentonite of Jianyang can't be used directly and its economic benefit is unapparent. To raise the value in use of the Bentonite, the way is to it carry the process deeply, which the key problem of refine is how to make sure the technological process and the optimal parameter. The experiment validates technological process and the optimal parameters of by three process, such as purify, Na- modified and organic-modified. The crystal chemistry principium of the organic-modified was also been discuss.
