In this paper, a new method of preparing nanometric lanthanide metal powers through decomposition of organolanthanide which was prepared from the reaction of lanthanide chips with anthracene in mild conditions is mentioned. The characterization of organolanthanide and the hydrogenation of some nanometric lanthanide metals was studied. Using the same method, nanometric Li and Na were first prepared.Transmission electron micrographs showed that the lanthanide powders and their hydrides formed were in the form of nanoparticles with an average primary particle size around 20-40 nm. And Li, Na were in the form of nanoparticles with an average primary particle size around 10-30 nm.The oraganometal compounds and nanometric metals have high reactivities and was combustible when exposed in the air.
