1. Systhesis of ZnO nanoparticle in methanol-water systemNano meter sized zinc oxide was prepared by using single-step method directly, zinc nitrate and urea as raw materials. Different kinds of ZnO nanoparticles prepared under different conditions were investigated by means of FT-IR, XRD and TEM. The result of this study also tells that the ZnO nucleation sites were formed immediately as long as the reactants mixed, and stopped growing quickly. As time goes, the ZnO nucleation sites didn't grow in their own diameter, but only in their quantities. After 12 hours the reaction was almost complete.2. Carboxymethylβ-Cyclodextrin-modified zinc oxide nanoparticlesA new procedure for the modification of zinc oxide nanoparticles with Carboxymethylβ-Cyclodextrin receptors was described. Modified nanoparticles were characterized by FT-IR, XRD and TEM. The result shows Carboxymethylβ-Cyclodextrin receptors absorbed on the surface of zinc oxide nanoparticles (20nm diameter) and nanoparticles further self-assemble into different kinds of nanomoleculars (50-200nm diameter) under different conditions. The process of self-assemble has been proved to be related to the concentrations of Carboxymethylβ-Cyclodextrin and the temperature of the system. The possible model of the self-assemble process was discussed also.3.
