In this paper, modified fly ash and slag were prepared by using fly ash and slag as raw material. Industry waste acid in the process of producing titanium white was used as modifying agent. The modified fly ash and slag were composed with vitriol titanium white waste residue to treat printing and dyeing waste water. The adsorption behavior influenced by the the concentration, time, temperature, pH of the reaction and the dose of oxidant was studied. The influence factors and the appropriate conditions to treat different wastewater were also examined using the orthogonal technique. Some modern test technology and methods were used. The specific surface area of raw fly ash and modified fly ash and slag were studied using Brurauer Emmerr Teller (BET) Procedure. The grain size of raw and modified fly ash and slag were determined using laster granularity scatter instrument. The morphology of raw and modified fly ash and slag was observed using transmission electron microscope (TEM). Dye removal from simulated dyeing wastewater and actual dyeing wastewater was experimented. The influence factors and the appropriate condition to treat different wastewater were also examined. At last, the mechanism of wastewater treatment was investigated.The experiment results showed that when the concentration of waste acid is 1mol/L, the reacting temperature is 50 ℃ , 30min, the performance of modified fly ash is the best; when the mole ratio of hydrochloric acid and industry waste acid is 1:1, the performance of modified slag is the best. A new type decolor agent was composed by using modified fly ash and slag with titanium white. The pH range of the composed decolor agent is broader than using sorbent alone and the treatment effects of waste water is good. The granular and specific surface area of modified fly ash and slag changed little.
