Using a lab model , the induction of Zea mays' microsomal system Cytochrome P450 (P450) by two typical polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PHAs): phenanthrene and pyrene was investigated in meadow brown soil. P450 and Super- oxide dismutase (SOD) activity induction was compared in the same polluted condition. P450s was explored as a biomarker which is feasible and sensitive in assessing lower concentration of biologic toxicity by the comparison. The result showed that:In the tested dose ranges(1~ 8mg·kg-1) , phenanthrene tested alone was found to induce the contents of Cytochrome P450.The contents of P450 under 2 mg·kg-1 of phenanthrene were significantly increased (p =0.000); and then the contents were no significantly decreased (p >0.05).The time of P450 induction was from 1.78 to 2.51. There was significant and passive correlation between the contents of P450 and the concentration of phenanthrene (r=0.337,p=0.000).In the tested dose ranges, pyrene tested alone was found to induce the contents of P450. The contents of P450 in the range from 1 to 2 mg·kg-1 of pyrene were significantly increased (p=0.000<0.001); and then the contents were no significantly decreased (p>0.05). The time of P450 induction was from 1.07 to 1.949. There was significant and passive correlation between the contents of P450 active protein and concentration of pyrene (r=0.555, p=0.000<0.001).In the tested dose ranges, combination of phenanthrene and... |
