| In order to improve the filtration efficiency of tobacco filter for tobacco tar and the smoking quality, and also reduce the cost of tobacco, the structure of raw and processed materials were investigated, the advantage and disadvantage of molding technologies of cellulose diacetate fiber filter and polypropylene fiber filter were analyzed. On this basis, the viscose staple fiber was selected as the filter stuff of cigarette filters and molding process of which was exploited. According to the national standard, a series of new types of viscose staple fibre tobacco smoke filters were fabricated by new technology. Systemic studies on the effects of different types of fibres and the varied molding conditions on the filter performance were performed, and some valuable achievements were obtained which is very useful for the development of industrialization of viscose staple fibre tobacco smoke filter. The main works and conclusions were as following:1. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) was used to investigate the cigarette smoke particles of many different types of polypropylene (PP) fibre filters and cellulose acetate (CA) fibre filters. Some of PP filters have excellent tar removal efficiencies, which are close to CA filter, but harmful components removal efficiencies of PP filters is still inferior to that of CA filter. That is to say, the ability of decreasing toxicant of PP filters is not as good as that of the CA filers. By means of GC/MS, comparative experiments of every mouth smoke of both PP filter and CA filter with the same content of tar were performed separately (8 mouths in all).The results show that, for the first three mouths, the PP filter tar's removal effect is better than that of the CA filters, but for the subsequent five mouths, it declined sharply, which results in the inferiority of PP filters to CA filters. Whereas the taste of the last five mouths of PP filer cigarette are irritative and lack the harmony, and the reasons of which were discussed primarily. |
