In the present, most of ChuanDnong Carboniferous gas reservoirs, which are high-production and belong to edge water gas reservoir, have already produced water, its water rate has been increasing, and this has badly affected the production schedule. Therefore, it is necessary to study the character of edge water distribution, production water theory, affection to the production, and taking right water-management measures in Carboniferous gas reservoirs. In the paper, has studied geological characters and production characters of Carboniferous gas reservoirs, energy analysis of edge water system, production theory in Carboniferous gas reservoirs, different type of edge water gas reservoir in Carboniferous gas reservoirs, relation between production water and geology, production, water cutting theory, and different water management measures. In the last, has analyzed the character of geology, production, water production, and water management measure in HuJiaBa Carboniferous gas reservoir.Throngs the above-mentioned research of various aspects, the main conclusions are described in the following:(1) Based on geology theory of gas reservoir, the production character, the theory of production water and the characters of water cutting, has classed the species of ChuanDnong Carboniferous gas reservoirs. It is the basis to well manage water production measure. Base on the paper, the species of ChuanDnong Carboniferous gas reservoirs has been divided into: the pore water cutting, fracture water cutting, and fracture-pore water cutting;(2) Based on geology theory of gas reservoir, the production character, the theory of production water and the characters of water cutting, has been made a conclusions: the gas reservoir belongs to the pore water cutting, the direction of water cutting is QiLi24 well. This is basis to well manage water production measure;(3) The conclusions of the paper, which has been applied to the water management of ChuanDnong Carboniferous gas reservoirs, is well. The production of the gas well has declined slowly, the reserves of gas reservoir has kept steady. Though the gas reservoir has produced for 8 years, the wells of the gas reservoir has been kept high gas rate. This is a good base to produce the gas reservoir;(4) Has studied characters of the well test curve of ChuanDong Carboniferous gas reservoirs deeply. The heterogeneous of the gas reservoir is serious, the water cutting is also serious. The water cutting species of HuJiaBa Carboniferous gasreservoirs is pore water cutting, if the right water management measures been applied, the pressure decline cure would have been kept well line, the production reserves of gas reservoir has been well kept.
