It well known that dust is one of public pollution in the world. Many human activities could generate dust particles and suffer from it. The dust pollution affects many aspects of human and environment, such as toxicological and sensory effects on humans, agricultural crops, grass and livestock, reduction of visibility, and abrasion and corrosion of materials. With the development of human society, people are more and more attention to the environmental protection. In the dissertation, dust pollution is taken as the topic of the research. Depending upon mathematic approaches, dust affected lung mechanism, environmental economics and so on, the dust diffusion simulation with visualization, the dynamic forecast models of pneumonoconiosis and the environmental benefit analysis of dust control were conducted by computer techniques. The main fruits achieved in the study are as follows.1. After making a detailed literature searching, a great number of papers and monograph on the environmental cost-benefit analysis (ECBA) were reviewed. Accordingly, the relevant methods and formulas were summarized.2. Based on analyzing and summarizing the dust diffusion equations and models, a program for simulating the diffusion process of dust with visualization was developed. Therefore, the concentration distribution of dust diffusion and the relevant factors could be seen directly and visually.3. Based on the research of relation between the incidence of pneumonoconiosis and the basic factors, a forecasting model of dust hazard which use three factors such as the percent of silicon dioxide, the concentration of dust, the period that people contacting dust has been built to express the dose-response relationship. By the practical data tested, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) can be used to simulate and predict the incidence of pneumonoconiosis.4. According to the ECBA demand, using the computer language of Visual Basic, the author compiles the environmental cost-benefit analysis (CBA) software. It can be use to calculate and analyze the chemical dust suppressants and something else, it will be to help for decision-making of the investment.5. By using the software, the environmental cost-benefit of chemical dust suppressant was analyzed and a conclusion was deduced that the chemical suppressant has obvious economic and social as well as environmental benefits.
