The functionalization of polyamine ligands allows to modify or introduce new properties into ligands and their metal complexes. The research in this field has been an important subject of recent developments in polyamine coordination chemistry, which would set forth of more sophisticated structure-function relationships and develop the theory of coordination chemistry. The studies of functionalized polyamines are of great theoretical importance as well as in terms of their prospective applications. In this thesis, we concentrated on this interesting field and some new substituted polyamine complexes have been designed and synthesized. The main contributions are as follows.1. Ligands: N, N'-bis(2-phenylamino)oxamide are prepared. 26 complexes are repared.by N, N'-bis(2-phenylamino)oxamide and the other chemical materials.2. The properties of them are characterized by the elementary analysis, 1HNMR, IR,UV, the fluorescence spectrum, etc. The conclusion is that the ions locate around .by N atom in the ligand. The monodentate complexes are neutrality, the multidentate neutrality, too. The group of OH- is appearance in the latter. The reason is that the carbonyl in the ligand transform the constitution of the enol form.3. The characterizations of the fluorescence of the complexes are studied. On the one hand, we find that great cheage has taken place in the characterization of the fluorescence, such as ZnL·2H2O, MnL·2H2O, Zn·L·bipy·2H2O, Ag·L·phen·2H2O, ZnLphen·2H2O, NiLbipy·2H2O, Cd·L·bipy·2H2O, Ni· L·phen·2H2O, Cr·L·2H2O, they can emit strong fluorescence, and the complexes are possible to be a series of new material of fluorescence. On the other hand, NiL·2H2O and CoL·2H2O can hardly emit fluoresaence.So they are expected to be the quencherses.4. According to the fluoresaence rules, it is that the fluoresaence materical intensity is strong with its concentration. So we fix the concentration of the ligand and increase the concentration of the metal ion gradually, and we measure the conjugation ratio of Zn2+ and the ligand. The conclusion is that the conjugation of Zn2+ and ligand is 1:1.
