Composite laminated structures are widely developed and used in aerospace and aeronautic structures because of their high specific strength and stiffness. Composite cylindrical shells are important structural members. It has been observed that composite cylindrical shells distort after curing due to great temperature difference between their working temperature and curing temperature. It's important to understand the warpage behavior of composite cylindrical shells. In this paper, warpage of composite shell segment with arbitrary layup during the curing process is studied. The main work of the paper:1) A theoretical model is established to predict the warpage of composite shell segment with arbitrary layers during the curing process. The model is based on the method of energy and considers geometric nonlinearity;2) This theoretical model was verified by comparing the prediction of typical examples with numerical simulation result and good agreement was achieved.3) The influence on cured shape of some parameters of composite cylindrical shells was studied, basing on this theoretical model. Some regular conclusion was archived .which is useful for engineering design.4) The impact of temperature dependent material property on the warpage of composite shell segment was discussed.
