| Using a silanized basic anion exchange resin as a catalyst on a fixed bed, a, a-dimethylolpropionaldehyde is advantageously prepared in the Aldol reaction of formaldehyde with propanal, and the reaction selectivity and yield are greatly improved. On a solid acid catalyst, the oxidation of 2, 2-dimethylolpropionaldehyde is mildly carried out in a continueously flowing system, and 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid was effectively obtained. On pilot-scale production, all the expriment results were reliably verified. Also the preparation of 2,2-dimethylolbutyric acid was abecdarianly explored, but the laboratory research has not been completed for the commercial requirement yet. |
