Abstract/Summary:
The dissolving behavior of iron in bauxite under high temperature and high pressure in vitriol solution was studied. The results show that the Fe2O3 in bauxite can be dissolved in vitriol solution rapidly, and meanwhile the technology would not change the property of aluminum bearer in bauxite, which offers good conditions to the processing and utilization of bauxite. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time and vitriol concentration on the dissolving rate of iron were discussed in detail. The optimum conditions are: reaction temperature 170 C, time 3h, vitriol concentration 0.94 mol-L-1, liquid solid ratio 6:1.The dissolving behavior of iron in bauxite tails in vitriol solution was studied. The results show that the Fe2O3 in tails can dissolve in vitriol solution rapidly, and the property of aluminum bronze in bauxite is not changed, which offers good conditions to processing and utilization of bauxite tails. The effects of reaction temperature, oxalic acid and vitriol concentration on the dissolving rate of iron were discussed in detail and the best conditions of reaction temperature 80 C, reaction time 3h, vitriol concentration 2.70 mol-L-1, oxalic acid concentration 0.25 mol-L-1,liquid solid ratio 1:6 are suggested.In this paper, the method of calcining with (NFL,) 2SO4 is used to remove the impurity from bauxite, especially the titanium, and systematically studied the main experimental conditions of affecting Ti removal. Took the experiment in the base of reactive principle. The study show that the calcining heat and the proportion of bauxite and (NFL,)2SO4 have great affection in the result of the removal of titanium.The advantages of the method of calcining with (NFL,) 2SO4 are the simple procedure, the high rate of Ti removal, the little danger, et al. Through feasibility studies of Ti removal from bauxite by these experiments, the results show that the method of calcining with (NFL4) 2SO4 is a practical way of Ti removal from bauxite. The optimum conditions are: reaction temperature 350 C, tail of bauxite (NFL4) 2SO4 ratio 1:3.
