The usage, research background and main routes of synthesizing cyclopropylamine and cyclopropanecarboxylic acid was introduced in this paper. The advantages and the disadvantages of every synthesizing route was analyzed briefly, and the synthesis of cyclopropanecarboxamide which is the most important intermediate of the cyclopropylamine was studied . Cyclopropycarboxamide was synthesized by four steps: iso-propyl-γ chlorobutyrate cyclopropanecarboxylic acid isopropyl, cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, cyclopropanecarboxamide were synthesized. The improvement of synthesizing iso-propyl- Y chlorobutyrate from γ-butyrolactone, sulfur oxychloride and iso-propyl alcohol at normal atmospheric temperature and atmosphere at one step unseperating the intermediate-γ. -chlorobutyryl chloride or γ-chlorobutyric acid was investigated. A series of experiments were proceeded through analyzing all kinds of factors which affect the reaction and a good conclusion was drawn. The yield of iso-propyl- Y -chlorobutyrate was 93%,based onγ -butyrolactone. Cyclopropanecarboxylic acid isopropyl was synthesized from iso-propyl- Y chlorobutyrate and sodium hydroxide. This reaction was catalyzed by phase transfer catalyst(PTC) and CH2Cl2 was used as solvent .A series of experiments were proceeded through analyzing all kinds of factors which affect the reaction. The yield was 82%, based on iso-propyl- Y chlorobutyrate. Cyclopropanecarboxylic acid was synthesized from cyclopropanecarboxylic acid isopropyl by liquid-liquid phase transfer catalyst. By optimizing the factors which affect the reaction, the hydrolytic yield was 85%, based on cyclopropanecarboxylic acid isopropyl. Cyclopropanecarboxamide was prepared by the reaction of cyclopropanecarboxylic acid and urea. The yield was 84%.According to the physical characteristics and chemical characteristics of all intermediates and cyclopropanecarboxamide, these synthetics were qualitatively analysized and quantitatively analysized by using traditional titration and modern analytical methods (IR, GC, GC-MS) .
