The catalysts for the treatment of the waste water discharging from a (meth)acrylic acid production plant were studied, and the catalysts were manufactured. The paper mainly examined the influence of the properties of matter of the TiO2/ZrO2 carrier and the catalysts on treatment of the waste water discharging from a (meth)acrylic acid product plant. The catalysts were characterized by measuring surface area,ICP,XRD,AAS,SEM and XPS. The relationships were studied between the method of carrier manufacture, the surface area, the pore structure, the content and the form of the active element, and the activity and the working period of the catalysts.It was found that carrier consist of TiO2/ZrO2 7:3~6:4,and calcined at above 650℃ has a good stability. The catalysts supported on the carrier have a good activity and a stable working period. Under reaction conditions of temperature 270℃,pressure 7.0MPa,LHSV 1.0h-1 and air/water 150(v/v),the COD of waste water can be removed from 32000 mg/L to below 100 mg/L. The removal ratio of organic substance is above 99.6%.After catalytic wet air oxidation treatment, the waste water can be discharged directly.
