With the development of agriculture, chemical pesticides have important action to prevention and cure of pest. Chemical pesticides will gradually degrade due to the decomposition reaction of sunlight after their application. However, pesticide residues or their metabolites still remain and constitute a health risk to animal and plant even human because of their residues toxicity. With increasing of living, human's health is very important, so the study of pesticide residues is also very important. In the process of analyzing pesticide residues, sample's preparation is very complicated because there is a very small amount pesticide residue in samples. Therefore, requirement of method's accuracy and precision are not very high, fortified sample recoveries can be between 80% and 120%. But the method's sensitivity must be very high in order to be able to determine trace pesticide. The main content of this article is as following: the determination of organophosphorus pesticides and pyrethroids in onion and ginkgo biloba leaves by gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography. There are six chapters:Chapter one: There is a review about the research development of pesticide residual determination by gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography. Detectors were compared. And the developing trends of pesticides residual analysis were discussed.Chapter two: A simple and rapid method had been described for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides and pyrethroids residues in onion by gas chromatography with electron-capture detector (ECD) and flame-photometric detector(FPD).Chapter three: A simple and rapid method had been described for the determination of pyrethroids in ginkgo biloba leaves by gas chromatography with electron-capture detector (GC-ECD). The mixture of acetone and hexane was used to extract the samples, followed by a cleanup technique on a column packed with Florisil and active carbon to elute the samples. This method was rapid and sensitive, and fulfilled actual need.Chapter four: A simple and rapid method had been described for the determination of pyrethroids in ginkgo biloba leaves by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The recoveries ranged from89.1% to 102%. The method is rapid, sensitive and suitable for the analysis of pesticides.Chapter five: A simple and rapid method was used to determine the residues of 5 organophosphorus pesticides in Ginkgo Biloba leaves by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In this paper, it was shown that these organophosphorus pesticides were separated out well on a HP-5MS column by the optimized temperature program.Chapter six: A method had been described for the determination of cypermethrin in ginkgo biloba leaves by high performance liquid chromatography. The method is suitable for the analysis of pesticides. And gas chromatography was compared with high performance liquid chromatography.
