The preparation and extrusion processing of FVS0812 (Al-8.5%Fe-1.3%V-1.7%Si)--an excelled rapid solidification heat-resistant aluminum alloy are investigated in this paper. A creative method was brought forward to improve the traditional preparation processing (spray deposition) of FVS0812.It enhanced the cooling rate and elevated the properties of FVS0812. The extrusion processing was researched and the best parameters of hot extrusion were ascertained.The over-spray powder of FVS0812 was used in spray codeposition in order to improve cooling rate and deposition ratio during spray deposition. Over-spray powder were mixed with high pressure nitrogen. The atomized medium crashed metal severely, at the same time the cool over-spray powder absorbed quantity of heat and added the number of heterogeneous nuclei, so the material made by the new processing had better microstructure. The granularity of over-spray powder affected the properties of FVS0812.The results are as follows:Origin processing: σ b=360.5MPa, σ 0-2=322.4MPa, δ =9.7% No. I new processing: σ b=433.3MPa, σ 02=368.3 MPa, δ=10.8% No. II new processing: σ b=392.4MPa, σ0.2=356.7 MPa, δ=6.9% The results show: the over-spray powder enhanced the cooling rate , deposition ratio and the tensile properties of FVS0812.The billets were extruded at the temperature of 350℃, 400℃, 450℃, 500℃in the extrusion ratio of 4,11,16,25. The results indicated that reducing extrusion temperature is beneficial to the properties of FVS0812. The suitable parameters are T=400℃, A =16. |
