It is our main task to reduce the harmful gas exhausion from automobiles and the noise from them .The catalytic converter and exhaust muffler reduce gas pollution effectively ,but at the nean time .They destroy the power and economy of the engine . This paper illustrates in detail the catalyst used by the catalytic concerter and the container's characteristics and the features and makes an analysis if the structure of shell catalyst ,carrier that affect the properties of catalytic converter ,This paper also illustrates the structure of the catalytic converter and some other effective elements ,and a suggestion that a purifying exhaust muffler takes place of the ordinary one .On this base ,the carrier of the rare-earth metal and oxidized lead is sleeted according to chind's special characteristic and exhaust purifying box in multi-use experiment was designed .Catalyst dosage ,the particle diameter of catalyst and the opening ratio of the opening piece are to be experimented and analyzed according to the three items of purity of exhaust purifying box .Exhaust muffler and oil consumption .The relationship between the paramefers and exhaust parity exhaust noise and the oil consmption ratio is analyzed the effecting degrie.The experiment shows that the catalyst portion has very obvious effect on the exhaust purity box ,purity ratio and oil consumption ; In the course of the opening ratio has an less obvious impact on experiment ,the three items ;the least impact on the three items is the carrer's diameter.Exhaust purity box is experimented in the way of upright meathed times are less for the multielement and multilevets ,the impact degree on the exhaust purity box canbe got from the experiment data analysis of various elements ,be offered to further the improvement of the exhaust purity box .
