The limit of sulfur content of diesel fuel tends to be strict gradually in many countries. However, the traditional hydrodesulfurization process needs high equipments investment and operation cost. In this reason, non-hydrodesulfurization process concentrates great attention. The oxidation desulfurization technique becomes a research focus and generally utilizes hydrogen peroxid as oxidant that is too expensive to be afforded by the small or medium size refineries.A new straight-run diesel catalytic oxidation desulfurization process is introduced in this paper. With the existence of air, a new developed cheap homogeneous catalyst is applied to oxidize the diesel at normal temperature and pressure. The sulfur content of diesel can decrease below 300μg/g and the qualities can achieve the international clean diesel standard by extraction and adsorption. This process overcomes the disadvantage of hydrogen peroxid oxidation process and is superior to hydrodesulfurization process in economy, which can either be used singly or be cooperated with hydrodesulfurization plant. The mechanism of this processes discussed and the method of experiment and measurement is established in this paper. The categories of the catalyst and extractant are selected .The operation conditions in laboratory is decided. The influence of operation parameters is investigated The recovery methods of the catalyst and extractant are studied. The yield and properties alternation of the diesel fuel are measured. Ultimately, the principle process-flow is presented to provide reference for the establishment of pilot-plant.
