This thesis makes the focal points on the whole process through which Formic Acid (FA) is made from the hydrolysis of Methyl Formate (MF) and the distillation of FA, gives a detailed discussion on the operation of the reaction and the technological process of the distillation. The operation sequence is finally drawn out through a vast amount of experiments under gradually improved conditions.In the reaction of the hydrolysis of MF, the orthogonal experiments plan is employed. After giving a comprehensive consideration on the influences that temperature, prepared materials and reaction times put on the transformation ratio of MF and the best technological operation states within the above range are got, that is, at temperature of 120℃, weight of H2O : MF = 2:1, reaction time of 1.5 hours and pressure of the saturated vapor of the reactant under the above temperature.The author gives a thorough investigation and study on the distillation of FA in this thesis. Through chromatogram ,the fast correction coefficient method is build so that the quantitative analysis if the actual concentration of the binary mixture FA - H2O can be carried out conviriently and accurately. In the process of distillation, the technology is improved by bettering the equipments and operation condition with reference to the phase -diagram, and also the operation technology is drawn up. Through this way, the MF with high concentration can be achieved (the concentration of the first outcome MF reaches around 90%). Also, under the atmospheric pressure in Kunming (608mmHg), FA-H2O is a branch of the final products. The temperature phase diagram of FA-H2O mixture is drawn on the basis of the immediate analysis of the samples of distillated mater at different out temperature. Therefore, the result testifies this system is the constant boiling system with the highest constant boiling temperature point.
