High speed cutting (HSC) is a machining method with low cutting depth, high feed rate and high cutting speed. With the advantages of lower machining time and cots as well as less thermal deformation and low cutting force, HSC is widely used in machining the work pieces witch are difficult to cut by normal method, especially for the parts with very thin walls. The main topic of this thesis is analysis of application of HSC in ultra-thin-walled machining. After the basic law and reliability research, work specifications about ultra-thin-walled part are summarized and cutting path is analyzed and optimized based on studies on the character of ultra-thin-walled part cutting, therefore working requirements meted and principle are received. According to series of experiments studying thermal character and cutting force under condition of high temperature and high speed during cutting, the law of vary of temperature and cutting force are received. Actual machining of typical parts are carried out. After experiments and theory analysis, parameters for machining parts of Boeing aero plane, rib in bars, are determined and verified by actual machining. The parts reach the requirements of engineering drawing. The result of actual machining is agree with analysis, showing that HSC takes a certain advantages.
