The cation dyeable polyester (CDP) fiber,which was developed by Do punt corporation in 1958 and commercialized in 1962 known as Dacron,is a main representative of new polyester fibers because of excellent dyeability and low cost. CDP fiber was industrialized in 1990s and boomed rapidly in China. Because of the high price of the raw material SIPM relying on input mainly and the more and more serious competition on polyester industry,many factories are researching the low cost and high property product. The research on synthesis of low cost and high property CDP pellets is based on the development of SIPM and SIPE and the usage of the low price and medium purity MTA.Firstly,a set of lOOT/a SIPM device is designed and developed and the optimal technological conditions are obtained based on the experiment and optimum of the technological factors on this device. At the same time the adoption of reuse of filter liquor,decrease of the usage of alkali and control of the secondary reaction entitles 60% and up recovery exceeding the design value by 50% and Japan standard product quality.Secondly,the synthesis of SIPE and the reaction conditions such as catalyst,anti-ether agent,temperature and water are researched to control the generation of diethylene glycol and the self-polymerization of SIPM by controlling the total quantum of distillate and the temperature of distillation column and reaction and the reliable synthetic conditions of SIPE are obtained.Thirdly,the feasibility of synthesis of CDP via MTA is analyzed in theory. The low cost and high property CDP pellets are produced by decreasing the temperature of reaction and the usage of catalyst,increasing the vacuum degree and using antioxidant additive,which is the first attempt in China.Finally,the reduplicate experiments show the stabilization of technological process and the ideal level of output,quality and consumption. The low cost and high property CDP pellets,which are the valuable attempt of small-scale polyester device in China,will be a novel type to compete in the market.
