This thesis consists of two parts:1. The two kinds of Mindlin composite laminates plate elements are introduced and a theory for load capability of composite laminates plate is stated. On the basis of platform of JIFEX2.0, a computing code with the function of load capability analysis of composite laminates plate is developed. From the some benchmark testing and numerical results of an external tunnel composite structure for new type of fighter generator, the efficiency and reliability for the elements and code are verified. The analysis results and corresponding discussions are useful for the designers in the composite engineering structures.2. A relevant formula of eight-node adhesive finite element is deduced in the paper, which is based on a separately interpolation scheme for Reissner- Mindlin plate element. A load capability analysis method for patched composite laminated structure is established by using Tsai- Hill failure criterion and Thai's reduced stiffness scheme, and corresponding computer code is also developed. From some numerical examples, the effects of patched areas upon the structure stiffness and the load capacity of composite laminates with a cutout are discussed. The method and conclusions would be useful for composite structures designers.
