Flexible sucker rod pumping system is a new technology of oil industry in our country recently. The design of the flexible sucker rod and heavy weight exert a significant influence on productivity and output of oil extraction. Considering deep thick oil well in LiaoHe oilfield, we analyse and study the components , situation and characters of the flexible sucker rod pumping system , and built a mathematical model of vertical vibration on the flexible sucker rod pumping system . On the case we put forward a plan to optimize the rod and heavy weight of the flexible sucker rod pumping system. We analyse and have a heated discussion on all kinds of optimum algorithms in the design, and described the specific realize of genetic algorithm, finished the programming design on Visual Basic. Through protecting excellent gene, we improved genetic algorithm and get an excellent result.The plan is used on Jing 16-18-29 oil-well and Huan 8-017 oil-well in LiaoHe oilfield . Results have proved that the plan is efficiency and satisfied. It's the inexorable trend that the steel sucker rod is replaced by the flexible sucker rod . It's a good way of improving the technology of oil extraction in our counter through studying and applying the flexible sucker rod pumping system .
