Floods In Chongqing City Study

Flood disaster is one prevalent disaster that causes great loss in all types of disaster in the Chongqing city.A study on that how the Chongqing flood disaster is formed, what is the rule of flood disaster has great meaning to the prevention and cure of Chongqing flood disaster.The Chongqing city situated in the subtropic area which is greatly influenced by monsoon. In summer Chongqing has ample of precipitation,especially lots of storm.Chongqing has a complex geological conformation, and the main physiognomy is the mountains and hills here and there. Many rivers run across the Chongqing region.and these are the fundamental bases of the Chongqing flood disaster.Based on the synthesis of the former study of the Chongqing flood disaster, this paper focus on the relationships of the storm and the flood disaster.In the first place, this paper analyzed the process, distribution rule of Chongqing precipitation, and its damage to the ecological system. Adefinition of the Chongqing flood disaster is given. And then the tyPe ofthe precipitation,seasonal change,monthly change,and the annual changeof precipitation is analyzed. At the same time,this paPer emphasized onthe features of summer precipitation,and how it influenced Chongqingflood disaster.In the second place, three types of Chongqing fiood are discussed,they are as follows: l .flood disaster caused by flood fi.om upper branch; 2.flood disaster caused by native fiood; 3. flood disaster caused by bothupper branch flood and native flood.And some important features of theChongqing flood disaster such as the temporal and spacial rule,theoccurrence frequency and the the situation of the Chongqing flooddisaster are also analyzed.As to the background of the Chongqing flood disaster, this paPerproceed with the following main important factors: the main physicalfactor that infiuenced Chognqing summer precipitation; physiognomyand terrain; the Chongqing water system; man-made factor. Thereinto,this paper focused on the main physical factors.Finally, in allusion to the problem of the situation of Chongqingflood disastef, the corresponding counter measurement of prevention andcure of the Chongqing fiood disaster is pointed out.
