| Transition metal cluster containing S has been the study focus of chemistry fieldover long years. [MS4]M=Mo,W,n=2;M=V,n=3 are useful and versatile reagents. Ithas been found that can react with a series of late transition metal ions, especiallycoinage metal ions such as Cu,Ag,Auand Ni2,to form cluster compounds withdifferent structures. Stimulated by research of manual simulation of nitrogen fixation, the chemistry of [MS4]2(M=Mo,W) is by far the most highly developed. Althoughimmerse interest in heterometallic vanadium thiocubane clusters in recent years hasstemmed from the vanadium-containing nitrogenase.[VS4]3 has not been extensivelyinvestigated. Up to the present, only a few examples have been reported. Via severalsynthetic routes we use (NH4)3VS4 as starting material and obtained seven newV-Cu-S heterometallic clusters, three of which are single crystal with the formula:(I)VS4(CuPPh3)4( 1 21)(II) [VS4(CuPPh3)4( 11 21)] [VS4(CuPPh3)4(It)](III) VS4Cu6Py8I3In addition, we employed the reaction between I-12S and heteropoly compoundcontaining V and obtained a heteropoly comcond containing V-S or Mo-S bonds. Thecrystal structure of crystal (I),(II) and (III) have been determined by single-crystalX-Ray diffraction method; JR spectra, UV-Vis spectra Raman spectra, Fluorescencespectra and cycle voltammtry have also been applied to study the spectral propertiesof obtained compounds; reaction properties and designed synthesis of suchcompounds are also explored and discussed. The Quantum Chemistry calculationswere carried out on some clusters. |
