Coal gangue is the largest industrial waste in our country not only on land occupation but also on cumulative stock. The annually emission of coal gangue is 300 million ton which is one quarter of the total industrial waste, and it is increasing every year. A large quantity of coal gangue piles encroach on land not only destroy the ecological environment, but also easy to cause geological disasters. Leaching from Coal Gangue pollute water, harmful gases from coal gangue spontaneous pollute the environment and affect the health of human body.Using coal gangue to make brick is one of the effective ways to make the competitive utilization of coal gangue come true, and the application is more mature. However used for preparing ceramsite was still in its infancy. Due to the performance of the ceramsite is excellent, it can be prepared for high performance concrete to make the architecture develop in the direction of light weight and high strength. Simultaneously, the fire prevention performance of insulation board which is made by ceramsite is good. So ceramsite has broad prospect of applications.At present, the main raw material study on ceramsite preparation is on shale, fly ash and other slag in domestic, and has obtained certain results. But for coal gangue, the study idea is mainly on clayey coal gangue, the sandstone coal gangue which is produced in Liaoning Chaoyang district is few for its Low plasticity. Its poor features lead it hard to make ball and the strength of ceramsite is not high enough to meet to the quality. Restricted it’s commodities and resource recovery utilization.Base on the theoretical analysis and experimental research, a new method of rationally using sandstone coal gangue to increase its plasticity and make ceramsite is found. Tested the influence of different fineness of raw materials on plasticity index and falling resistance frequency. Determine the ratio of coarse and fine material solutions for 33:67 comprehensive the process is simple and economic rationality on two factors. Select plasticity index, the granulation rate of the ball and the cylindrical compress strength of the ceramsite as indicators. By mixing different amount of shale and oil shale as ingredient to analysis the impact of the material’s on the aforementioned indicators. On the basis of ensuring the quality of the ceramsite to determine the maximize use of the best mixing ratio of sandstone coal gangue. Select sodium silicate as binder based on preliminary tests and select plasticity index, the granulation rate of the ball and the cylindrical compress strength of the ceramsite as indicators to determine a suitable Incorporation of the sodium silicate is 2%. Choose preheating temperature, preheating time, sintering temperature and holding time as four main factors which have great effect on the roasting system to make the roasting program optimization. The optimum condition of preparation for ceramics is:preheating temperature at 450℃, preheating time is 20min, sintering temperature at 1150℃, holding time is lOmin. The quality of the ceramsite which is roasted under the above condition meet the requirement of high strength lightweight aggregate of level 700.The ceramsite which meet the quality requirements has been made by optimizing raw material, adjusting and optimizing proportion, adding binder to improve the quality of the raw meal ball, and then optimize the roasting program. Create a new approach of comprehensive utilization of resources.
