Dishwashing detergent is a kind of household cleaning product which is indispensable in our daily life. In recent years, with the rapid development of dishwashing detergent products, there are more and more qualitative issues of the products on a market. With the continuous improvement of living standards and the gradual increase of environmental protection consciousness, people are increasingly paying more attention to their health issues, and they have more strict requirements for detergents. Therefore, dishwashing detergent is supposede to be not only detergent and economy but also mild and environmental friendship.Dishwashing detergent is a compound system with primary surfactants, secondary surfactants and other additives. In this paper, the properties of surfactants including detergency, performance of hard water resistance, foam properties, viscosity and influence of Na Cl on viscosity were tested under the same conditions, such as LAS, AES, MES, AOS, APG, AEO, CAB. In addition, it also tested the detergency and foam performance of binary complex system including anion / anion, anion / nonionic, anionic / zwitterionic surfactant, from which chosen LAS / AES, AEO / MES, LAS / CAB as the typical representative to test. The result showed that complex system had strong synergistic effect, they were all have better detergency and foam capacity than a single surfactant. These research provided a reference for dishwashing detergent formulations to choose suitable surfactants.Detergency, foaming, viscosity of multiple complex system including five factors: AES, MES, AOS, APG, CAB were tested by using orthogonal experiment method. The best combination were selected by taking into account the importance of each indicator, and then thickeners, PH adjusting agents and chelating agents. Finally a new detergent formulation was obtained: e.g. AES: 7%, AOS: 6%, MES: 5%, APG: 3%, CAB: 2%, Na C l: 0.5%, EDTA-2Na: 0.1%, citric acid: 0.05%、extra water. We evaluated the performance of the new dishwashing detergent according to GB9985-2000 "dishwashing detergents". The result showed that every indicator of the new dishwashing detergent was in line with national standards.
