The Design And Implementation Of An CNC Machining Simulation System Based On Machine Works

The simulation of CNC machining is a key methods to verify the CNC program,furthermore it can simulate the complete machining process so that we can predicate accidents that may be happened in the machining process and the operator can improve the numerical control program by observing the machining process.Many researches have been done and many 3D-model representation methods and machining simulation algorithms has been presented.Many machining simulation systems also has been developed.But some commercial simulation systems are presented as stand-alone applications or provide interface for customization,so we can hardly integrate these systems into our CNC systems in present.In this background,this paper explores some key technologies which are used by machining simulation system,we use a method which is based on special-purposed library to develop the machining simulation system.we did several aspects of work below:First,Build the geometry model for the virtual machining environment with the method combines importing from outside and create internally so that the time and space used can be balanced.Second,Use a tree data structure to describe the motion-model of the virtual machining environment,which constitute the virtual model with the geometry model together,then we design the interface of the virtual model.Then,Build the control-system based on modules,invoke the interface of the virtual-model to drive the simulation process.At last,based on all of above,we develop a prototype system.The result shows that by this method we can easily integrate simulation system into CNC system.This method can also satisfies the demand which requires to decrease the amount of work and keep some-level of flexibility.
