With the rapid development of chemical industry in our country, hazardous chemical accidents are on the rise. In the process of hazardous materials transportation from the production and storage areas to the consumption area, road transport is the main vehicle. Hazardous materials are dangerous, if there is a traffic accident or a leakage accident happened in transit, it may cause combustion, explosion, corrosion, poisoning or other serious disasters. The safety of life and property of the people and the safety of public will be endangered. And the environment will be polluted. Therefore, it has important economic value and profound social benefits to monitoring hazardous materials in the process of transport.With a view to the liquefied natural gas transportation vehicles, a kind of real-time online monitoring system of hazardous materials was designed. This system consists of detection system and vehicle terminal. Detection system consists of many sensors, realizes real-time online information acquisition and processing. This information includes transportation environment temperature, humidity, pressure, liquid level, concentration of the gas volatility spillover and acceleration, and other key parameters of the vehicle.Design the vehicle monitoring terminal system based on GPS. The host controller of this system is MSP430f149. The GPS module, GPRS module and the human-computer interaction module were organically integrated together. On the one hand, the vehicle monitoring terminal system can display all kinds of sensor information collected by the detection system. On the other hand, it can also send this information and accurate GPS information to the remote monitoring center by GPRS wireless communication. Realize the function of the monitoring center and escort personnel for real-time monitoring hazardous materials’ state and the vehicle’s state.Because of the possibility that many factors cause hazardous materials accident, combined the technology of multi-sensor data fusion, builded a leak recognition model based on least squares support vector machine. The parameters of support vector machine were optimized by using genetic algorithm. And main characteristics of leak signal are processed by the kalman filter and normalization method. Input the processed data to the least squares support vector machine for training and safety status classification. The classification accuracy is 97.5%. The simulation results show that this algorithm can well identify the leak of hazardous materials in the process of transportation and ensure the safety of hazardous materials transportation.The system has a broad expansibility study. Only need to replace the sensor detection system, then this system can be applied to real-time monitoring benzene, ammonia, gasoline and other flammable, explosive, toxic hazardous materials.
