Open pit mine, which level of digitizing and information affects the quality and efficiency of mining directly, and affects the level of development of the entire industry,plays an important role in the exploitation of mineral resources. BIM information model can solves the problems, such as, visualization poor, low efficiency, etc., provides a new means for open pit mine to information technology constructing, information model building and designing visually.Firstly, it analyses the research status quo of BIM, open pit ore-rock transport system modeling and Civil 3D, to identify research questions. Secondly, combining the analysis of open pit mine information technology, and modeling techniques, and similar points between Mining and construction in participants and construction phase,discusses the feasibility and superiorities of the applications of BIM technology in open pit mine ore-rock transport system modeling. Thirdly supported by AutoCAD Civil 3D software, establishes the technology roadmap of constructing BIM model of open pit ore-rock transportation system, and explores the methods of determining the mode and routes of ore-rock transportation system, and introducing the ideas of collaborative design and parametric model to construct the model, completes the path model building phased with data shortcuts, and accomplishes parametric design of the road model with assembly. Finally, using the method above to one open-pit, applying transport theory to determine the location of crushing power station and tape path, constructs the BIM model of ore-rock transportation system successfully, and uses it to terrain analysis,model analysis, the amount of engineering measuring and virtual reality.Design results of the paper have been successfully applied to the optimization of transport system of the open-pit, which is recognized by the company.
