Glsss Fiber Reinforced Plastic, abbreviated GFRP, is a kind of fiber reinforced resin composites. Because of the superior properties such light weight, high strength, good corrosion resistance, as excellent heat resistance, insulation and others, the GFRP is widely used in the field of oil and gas gathering pipeline. However, in recent years, as the application of corrosion-resistant material, there have been cases of the GFRP pipe corroded. Because the vast majority of the transmission medium is acidic in the oil and gas fields, and less research on acid medium of glass pipe corrosion, so the research GFRP pipe corrosion in acidic medium is of great significance. In this paper, the anhydrides GFRP, commonly used in the oil gathering pipeline was studied. The moisture absorption of GFRP material was researched by the Fick model, and the corrosion behavior of GFRP were studied using scanning electron microscopy, IR, XPS, etc. And the rules of the properties through the corrosion process were studied at last.Through the researching, the result indicated that: the hygroscopic of anhydrides GFRP pipe can meet the Fick diffusion model, and the maximum effect on the diffusion coefficient is temperature. In the corrosion process, the surface corrosion occurred, and the analysis showed that mainly resin matrix certain degree of hydrolysis, while the fiber and the interface does not appear significant corrosion. In the range of this article, with the extension of corrosion time, in addition to hardness, the density and mechanical properties of GFRP decreased by exponential, and eventually approaching a balance, which is related to the test of time. So the failure of GFRP can be judged through its we mechanical properties.
