There are a lot of defects in domestic wire cutting automatic programming software. CAXA does not directly support the Auto CAD file format, and when approaching spline curve, can only use purely linear approximation or circular arc approximation method, and can’t adjust the approximation precision. In addition, the software in the corner trajectory control strategy is too poor, so that the machining error is large. When applied to precision machining, the machining accuracy often can’t meet the requirements.In order to solve the above problems, this research project was designed to develop a set of linear cutting automatic programming software system. This system has realized the basic thread cutting automatic programming function, in addition, there are other two distinctive characteristics: The first is when carry out NURBS spline approximation, the user can choose to use simple linear approximation method, also can choose the more precise linear mixed with double circular arc approximation method, and can adjust the approximation accuracy. The Second, in order to improve the processing precision shape corner, in view of the line interpolation in the four corners types: line and line, line and arc, arc and arc, arc and line. We put forward the circular arc and arc corner of trajectory optimization method, and improve the existing line and arc corner trajectory optimization method. Then we put the complete trajectory optimization strategy method and the automatic programming system together, designed and developed wedm automatic programming software platform with the intelligent expert syste m, implementing the engineering application. The whole software system is composed of five modules: processing parameter setting module, wear silk point and annealing silk point setting module, component properties statistics module, intelligent expert system module, G code generation and preservation module.After completing the design and development of the software, we drew a standard gear and other components, and saved them as common DXF2010(or DXF2007) format file. Opened the file using our home-made linear cutting automatic programing system, and test system functions: parameters settings, wear silk point setting, spline approximation, G code generation, etc. Then using intelligent expert system for the corner trajectory optimization, through contrasting processing experimental results, analyzed the effectiveness of the trajectory optimization. Through detailed analysis of the results of actual processing, finally we found the system running well, G code correctly and the corner trajectory optimization strategy is very effective.
