This paper based on engineering geological conditions of puncture layer roadway called main return air roadway in Shilawusu coal Mine, combining with the method of rock mechanics experiments and theoretical analysis and numerical simulation and field measurement, studyed the law of non-uniform deformation of surrounding rock in puncture layer roadway, optimized support parameters concerned, formed an effective support control technology.First of all, through getting rock samples from the field, physical and mechanical performance parameters of samples were tested, the results showed that the overall strength of the roadway are lower, belong to soft rock that are easily broken.Secondly, based on mechanical testing experiments, with UDEC software applied, the law of non- uniform deformation of surrounding rock in puncture layer roadway that with different horizons and different coal thickness and different seam angle joints were simulated. Studies show that the rock plastic zone and the top floor deformation increases 2m and 190 mm respectively when the roadway puncture into the coal from the rock. Rock homogeneity has a great impact on roadway deformation when the roadway through layers. With the coal seam thickness increases and surrounding rock heterogeneities weakening, rock plastic zone and deformation symmetrical distribution no longer, and the roadway right side deformation greater than the left side, and as the coal thickness increases, the difference between roof deformation and floor heave becomes larger durning the roadway through the layer.Roadway two sides move quantity increases with the seam joint angle increases. When the joint plane angle θ <40 °, convergence between roof and floor increases with θ increases, while joint plane angle θ> 40 °, convergence between roof and floor decreases with θ increases.Again, according to the deformation law of surrounding rock in puncture layer roadway, simulated and optimized support methods and parameters of surrounding rock in puncture layer roadway, and ultimately determined the joint support program of bloting and shotcreting and U-bracket, which can effectively control deformation and failure of surrounding rock in puncture layer roadway.Finally, the deformation law of surrounding rock in puncture layer roadway were observed through field engineering practice. Observations show that the main return air roadway right side and shoulder forced and deformation are greater than the left side in Shilawusu coal mine. After the roadway enter the 2-2oncoal seam, the spalling of two sides and roof deformation of the roadway are severely than before, but the effect of surrounding rock control is better overall.
