This paper studied on the influence of unavoidable ions on the floatability of cellophane and quartz what is the main gangue mineral of cltaining lanthanide silicon calcium phosphate ore in Zhijin, by using HAY as the flotation collector. Investigate on the relations between flotation and surface properties of quart, by the determination of adsorption, Zeta-potential test, solution chemistric calculation, IR spectra analysis and molecular simulation studies.According to additional ions and the solution ions in phosphate ore slurry, investigate on the influence of the floatability of quart and cellophane for which is the metal cations Ca2+、Mg2+、Al3+、Fe3+、Fe2+ and inorganic anions SO42-、CO32-、PO43-、SiO32-、F- and between their interaction. The above result show that HAY unites with the oxygen of silicon oxygen bond on the surface of quartz by electrostatic and also unites with calcium ions of the surface of phosphate by chemical bon when there is not inevitable ion in pulp. When the inevitable ion less than 35 mg/L, there is no obvious effect. When the solution ion is 50 mg/L, there is obvious effect on the floatability of quart and cellophane, especially metal ions. What is the influence of metal cations: Fe3+>Fe2+>Al3+>Ca2+>Mg2+, what is the influence of inorganic anions: SO42->SiO32->F->CO32->PO43-. Under the interactions of anion and cation, what the interactions of Ca2+ and inorganic anions is similar to the influence of Ca2+ on the floatability of quartz and cellophane, SO42- and F- can reduce the influence of Fe3+ and Fe2+ on the floatability of quartz and cellophane, PO43- can improve the influence of Fe3+ and Fe2+ on the floatability of quartz and cellophane, when the pH is three, the flotation difference is more than 60 %. Under the interactions of cation and cation, the flotation difference between quartz and cellophane is decreases.The mechanism of mineral flotation process had being studied using the adsorption of reagents, Zetapotential test, solution chemical calculation, IR spectra analysis and molecular simulation studies, which is consistent with the flotation experimental results of pure minetals. Ca2+, Mg2+ and HAY can form a stable chelate and there is exist competing adsorption between the two, the floatability of quartz was reduced. Al3+ can adsorption on Stern layer of quartz and the suface electrical properties of quartz is changed so that HAY can hardly adsorb on the surface of quartz, therby the floatability of quartz is reduced. SiO32- can adsorb on the surface of quartz and lower adsorption activity point, which reduce the floatability of quartz. The complexation reaction HAY with F- was carried out in slurry, which reduce the concentration of HAY and lower the hydrophobicity of quartz surface so that reduced the flotation recovery of quartz. SO42-、CO32-、PO43- can combine with HAY with positively charged, reduced the flotation recovery of quartz.By the flotation test and mechanism study of quartz, find out the influence of quartz flotation for unavoidably ions in phosphatic ore and reveal the relationship between the flotation and the surface features of quartz.
