Based on the analysis of heat-transfer mechanism of a roller-hearth tempering furnace, which is heated by fire, a heat-transfer mathematical model for steel plate in the furnace is established. The study not only provides a theoretical basis for optimizing the tempering process, but also has important meaning for energy conservation, and the quality of heat treatment.Main tasks of this paper are as follows:(1) Based on the analysis of the structure and heat transfer process in the tempering furnace, the mathematical model of steel plate is established. Explicit difference method is used to gain the simulation calculation. By the trial and error method, the empirical formulas of the combined heat transfer coefficient ware derived.(2) After the establishment of mathematical model and the determination of important parameters, the temperature-time curves of steel plate are simulated. The comparison between calculation and measured value shows that the absolute error is less than 5℃. The results are in good agreement with the measured values, which can meet the requirements of engineering applications.(3) Then, the temperature of changing patterns of steel plate in different heat treating technologies and various plate properties can be predicted by the mathematical model.(4) The solutions from the simulation provide basis for the optimization of tempering process system. |
