Magnesium alloy has the merits of small density, high specific strength and specific stiffness, good machinability and easy to recycle. However, the poor mechanical properties and corrosion resistant performance inhibits its further engineering application. Hence, it is of great significance to explore the means to improve the mechanical properties and corrosion properties of magnesium alloys, as well as other basic research to promote the wide application of magnesium alloy.In this paper, Mg-Zn-Ca/Mg-Zn-Ca-Nd alloy was chosen as the research object to study the influence of aging treatment for the mechanical properties and corrosion properties of hot extruded alloy; Test its corrosion behavior by the corrosion mass loss method and electrochemical method in the corrosive liquid; Analyzed the aging influence mechanism to the mechanical properties and corrosion properties of hot extruded alloy by comparing alloy’s mechanical properties, microstructure and phase composition before and after aging.The results indicated that the Mg-Zn-Ca/Mg-Zn-Ca-Nd alloy’s hardness and intensity changed after aging treatment; Metal hardness and strength showed the parabolic trend which first increases then decreases with the increase of aging temperature and aging time; Corrosion mass loss method show that the corrosion rate of alloy increased first then decreased with the extension of aging time and the increase of aging temperature; The electrochemical results showed that aging treatment can make the corrosion potential dropped and the corrosion current density increased, which to a great extent, improve the corrosion resistance of alloy. In conclusion, For the hot extrusion state Mg-Zn-Ca /Mg-Zn-Ca-Nd alloy, aging treatment can make bigger improvement for its mechanical and corrosion properties.
