Ionic Liquids (ILs) is a kind of liquid which composed of ions. Most of the ionic liquids can be well designed. In addition, ionic liquids also have a wide electrochemical window and good conductivity. In many chemical reactions, they can be used as solvent, catalyst and interfacial compatibilizer. Ionic Liquids have a great application in industrial production. In our study, the experiment is divided into two systems. In the first system, different imidazolium ionic liquids were used in the covalently modified of carbon nanotubes, and then the IL-functionalized CNTs were prepared to composites with poly vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) by blending. The effects of the IL-functionalized CNTs to the composites would be researched in our work. At the same time, the influence of ionic liquids on the interface consistency of CNTs with PVDF also was studied. In the second system, imidazolium ionic liquid was used in the modified of microcrystalline cellulose (MC), and then prepared to composites with polylactic acid (PLA) by solution blending. The plasticizing results of ionic liquids on PLA were discussed, and the improvements of the ionic liquids in the interface consistency between cellulose with PLA were also studied. In the first system, two methods of the modification of CNTs by Ionic Liquids were used:The one was directly used 1-aminopropy 1-3-methyl imidazole chloride and carboxyl CNTs with condensation reaction; The other one was in two steps. The imidazole ring was grafted onto CNTs firstly, and then the quaternary ammonium reaction was used to prepare to the IL-functionalized CNTs. Finally the preparation of the IL-functionalized CNTs was successfully proved by FT-IR, TGA and Raman. Then, IL-functionalized CNTs was blended with PVDF to prepare to series of composites. The dispersion of the IL-functionalized CNTs in PVDF and the influence of the IL-functionalized CNTs on composites were discussed. The results revealed that the dielectric permittivity and dielectric loss were increased with the increased of the content of the CNTs. The maximum dielectric permittivity can be 120. The crystal structure of PVDF can be changed from a-crystal to (β-crystal with CNTs-C and CNTs-E. The elongation at break also decreased within the addition of CNTs. The melting points and crystallinity of the composites were lower than the pure PVDF. By means of SEM proved that ILs can improve the dispersion of CNTs within PVDF.In the second system, different amount of MC and a certain amount of 1-methyl-3-allyl imidazolium chloride mixed by grinding. The PLA-based composites can be got after fully grinding. At the same time, the composites within cellulose and PLA and the composites within ionic liquids and PLA were as the contrast groups. The plasticizing effects of ionic liquids to PLA were researched, and the improvements of the interface consistency between cellulose and PLA by using ionic liquids were also considered. The results illuminated that the addition of ionic liquids can be an effective plasticizer for PLA and improve the interface consistency between cellulose and PLA to a certain extent. Besides, the melting points and glass transition temperatures of PLA-based composites were lower than pure PLA.
